Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Director, this is a strategic and supportive
role, which requires strong leadership skills, as it enables the
organisation and managers to deliver Healthy Planet's services
successfully and efficiently. The Operations Manager will act on
behalf of the Founder and Director, be part of the Senior
Management Team, assist in business development, and ensure Healthy
Planet meets the objectives set out in the business plan.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the
organisation, in accordance with Healthy Planet's mission, ethos,
and communications and business plan.
This entails:
• Responsible for updating policies and
procedures.
• Coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the
growth of Healthy Planet's initiatives.
• Trouble-shooting difficulties among employees,
volunteers, customers, and initiatives.
• Proactively managing expectations and problem
solving.
• Leading while empowering and instilling
confidence amongst the team.
• Managing external and internal
relationships. In particular, managing the strong
personalities of the Senior Management Team.
• Ability to delegate and manage conflicting
priorities.
• Responsible for recruitment and selection of
staff.
Staff Supervision
• Responsible for managing the Project
Coordinator, the Conservation Manager, and other relevant
interns.
• Support the continuous development of
Department Managers.
Networking, Events, and Partnerships
• Represent the charity & the social
enterprise at local, regional and national events with and in place
of the Founder.
• Manage the relationships of key
stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with our existing
project partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with new
partners and stakeholders.
Project Management
• Project Lead for the conception, development,
and implementation of pilot initiatives.
• Along with the Marketing and Communications
Manager, responsible for on-going development of the Healthy Planet
website.
• Project leader for the development of Healthy
Planet's CSR programmes.
• Coordinate and manage project teams.
• Work alongside the Conservation Advisory Board
to project manage Healthy Planet's Conservation Funding
programme.
• Plan and implement relevant events with a view
to create replicable blueprints.
Board of Trustees
• Provide secretariat and other support to the
Board of Trustees and represent and advocate for the Healthy Planet
team.
Progress Monitoring
Progress will be monitored during bi-annual appraisal meetings
with Director. Outcome targets are predetermined in line with the
business plan and are measured using KPIs.
What You Will Need
• Strong Leadership and Management Skills (at
least 2 years past experience).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
both written and oral.
• Strong organisation skills.
• Experience in project management.
• Ability to work strategically.
• Ability to delivery on time and to
budget.
• A keen interest in environmental, green,
and/or health issues.
• Ability to respond quickly to new developments
and be decisive.
• Must be educated to degree level
• Must be able to manage a varied workload

Communications and Marketing Intern
Reporting to: John Brookes, Marketing and Communications
Manager
Location: Hammersmith, London
Hours of work: 3-4 days per/week, flexible days

The Job
As a Communications and Marketing intern, you will work with the
team to deliver key marketing messages over a range of channels to
our wide network of partners, stakeholders and potential
supporters.
Key Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities
• Work with team members, delivering reactive
and proactive PR: writing press releases and responses to
announcements; and identifying, initiating and placing newsworthy
stories, case studies and features in both print and online media.
This is to include support in local profile-raising for the Books
for Free network.
• Monitor news for relevant stories and news
trends.
• Coordinate pro-bono support and supervise the
activities of communications Timebank donators.
• Support the Marketing & Communications
Manager in implementing Healthy Planet's Marketing &
Communications Plan.
• Work with the wider team to develop and
implement Healthy Planet's Marketing & Communications
Plan.
• Ensure the Healthy Plant website content is
kept relevant and up to date.
• Build and nurture external relationships with
a range of target market audiences, online and offline, especially
through the use of a social media network (Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube etc).
• Manage the print and design requirements of
Healthy Planet - ensuring that all materials are delivered within
budget and timescales, and are on-brand and on-message.
• Protect and enhance the reputation of Healthy
Planet.
What you will need…
The successful intern will demonstrate a real interest in
communications, marketing and media. You will also be an effective
and engaging communicator with experience of social networking
sites aimed at young people, and will be passionate about
environmental issues.
