The issue:
"For many humans, particularly in affluent 'developed'
countries, changes have brought access to leisure, learning,
comfort, ease of pains of illness and injury, and enhanced life
expectancy. These 'gains' for fortunate, largely western, human
populations have created unprecedented demands on Earth's
resources. These are generally made with little regard for the harm
caused and for the damage created by the ultimate disposal of the
by-products of this unparalleled consumption."

The Solution
2011 was the International Year of Forests. World
Bank estimates that more than 1.6 billion people depend on
forests for their livelihoods while deforestation of tropical
rainforests account for biodiversity loss of about 100 species a
day.
We believe that if businesses, policy-makers, charities, and
individuals around the world join forces, and if we implement small
changes to our lifestyles and attitudes, we have an unprecedented
opportunity to make a long-lasting difference.
To show our support for the International Year of Forests,
Healthy Planet donated money to Plant A Tree Today Foundation who
are one of our project partners who aim to regenerate rainforest in
Thailand that has been affected by illegal logging. You can help
too by adopting a plot in the Khao Yai Park (click
