Healthy Planet's Land Guardian experience gives our existing supporters something new and tangible so they become more closely involved in what we do by reading about our planned work & voting on how their money is used. It also means we have access to a whole world of new supporters who are interested in helping the places we know and are working in.
It's a fun and efficient way to connect donors and agencies like us because it uses satellite images and is very transparent about how your money is used. Well done and thank you.

African Conservation Foundation
What an exciting and innovative concept! The project will provide users around the world with a Web 2.0 experience, using the power of the latest mapping technologies, and engage them in a very real way in the management and monitoring of a protected area of their choice. I have no doubts this will create a very dedicated community of supporters.
Healthy Planet will bring it all together: the spatial component with the selection and voting system, for the donors, the bidding system and direct communication channels between local organisations and global citizens, and of course the generation of funds for conservation activities on the ground.

Your idea of the park mapping fits perfectly with what we do in a couple of our courses. I teach a Geomatics course in secondary school & this would be a clever way to expose the students to a great environmental use of geotechnologies.
