Sariska National Park, India

Situation:

Suffering from the effects of poaching, tiger sightings are rather rare in India. The profitable tiger trade decreased populations and despite the bans now in place, poaching still continues. In order to protect the species Project Tiger was launched in 1972 as a conservation programme to prevent the decline in numbers of the Indian Tiger Population. The areas stretching up to the Himalayas and surrounding areas have seen successes of this program but there is still a need for more conservation laws to make Indian sanctuaries a safe haven for tigers.

Goals:

Adopt one of the 800sq km of grasslands, forests and cliffs and help support the habitat of the majestic tiger and over 15 diverse species.
